Welcome to the online gallery of Gideon Fourie. \u00a0This site is a collection of some of my favourite photographs taken around the globe. \u00a0I can probably best describe myself as a photo enthusiast having been addicted to photography for most of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My earlier photographs were taken with a 35mm SLR Camera (it was a Minolta and I still have it well-protected.) \u00a0These earlier photographs are all still unedited, uncropped, unphotoshopped. \u00a0In 2006 (it took a while) I made the jump to digital photography and also switched to Canon. \u00a0My first digital camera was a Canon EOS 20D before I moved to the EOS 60D. \u00a0I have also since discovered the versatility of the iPhone and pretty much everything on my Instagram feed<\/a>\u00a0is taken with my mobile phone. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More recently I adopted the Olympus PEN-F (still in that honeymoon phase where I believe it is the best thing this sliced bread…)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I and my family love to travel the photographs on this website have literally been taken on 6 continents.   If someone had asked me what my speciality is, I would have said architecture, but honestly, I shoot what I see.  I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born in Pretoria, South Africa, and although living in South Africa most of my life, I am now based in Bad Homburg just outside Frankfurt am Main, Germany (although I remain South African at heart.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography is my passion and I look forward to sharing it with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
